Elisa in Ojai

ojai7

Elisa spent a week visiting her family in California and I was able to sneak in a couple of days with my dearest friend. Elisa and I went for a hike one day and the other day had a lot of girl talk, drove around Ojai took photos and then made a yummy dinner with Richard, which we enjoyed outside around the fire.  Awesome time spent with with my kind friend.

Elisa lives in Hawaii and is in Grad school for Traditional Chinese Medicine, she teaches yoga, writes, plays the ukulele,  acts and models, goes on an adventures traveling the world and is a modern day wild woman. For booking inquires: Kathy Muller Agency

Floral Crown Workshop with Shop Summer Camp

0T3B8271

We had our second floral crown workshop at Shop Summer Camp, a beautifully curated shop in Ojai. The space was once a car service station and now is filled with vintage and handmade goods styled to perfection by the lovely Rachel along with her husband Michael.

When Rachel asked if Love, Oliver and Michele would put together another workshop I had to say yes. What could be better than being outside at a great location and creating art with flowers? It is a real pleasure to watch friends, mothers and daughters, and some solo artisans spend time together, taking time to to do something creative.

Speaking of mother and daughter, my own mom Candy came down to help me, which was quite a treat. It was a family affair with Rick, my Mom and even my Dad (he sneaked off to catch a few waves though).

Watching all the girls have fun and make such different flower crowns is really inspiring and makes me want to do more workshops in the future, so stay tuned. We are planning a third workshop with an awesome Los Angeles location in October.

Spring Supper

1

On March 22nd Oliver and Michele Productions, along with the awesome folks of Scratch and beautiful styling and vintage rentals by Milk and Honey Farm had a farm to table dinner for the Ventura County community. The supper was an intimate evening at the Rio Gozo Farm in Ojai.

The evening started with a wonderful spread of cheese, preserves from the Rio Gozo Farm, with bread and nuts to compliment. Wine from Four Brix and fresh squeezed lemonade was served as the guests enjoyed the surroundings of trees, chickens and a baby goat named Pi, who pranced around entertaining the guests. Ojai musician Dave Palmer played piano that created a beautiful ambience.

As the sun went down, dinner was served each entree came out one at a time and was passed around family style to the guests. The dinner menu from Scratch and bounty from Rio Gozo:

First course:
Poached farm egg with dandelion greens, preserved lemons and a goat milk polenta.
Second Course:
Roasted beet salad with puffed rice, Meyer lemon vinaigrette
Third Course:
Carpenter Ranch grass fed flank steak from Ventura Meat Company marinated in orange blossom, olive oil and marjoram with brown butter braised turnips and kale, swiss chard and radicchio.

Scratch will be hosting future farm dinners, please follow them on facebook to stay in touch with events and their food truck. Thanks again Chef Tim, Lisa and the rest of the Scratch crew for an amazing supper.

Thank you Farmer John and Elizabeth for your warm hospitality.

Thank you Jennifer of Milk and Honey Farm. Visit Milk and Honey Farm for your next event!

Portrait of Katherine

Our friend and client Katherine Bell of The Habitat Factory needed a new portrait, so we took Hattie the truck out to a cattle ranch in Ojai and took photos till the cows came home. Literally, the cows moseyed their way right pass us as we were taking photos. You can see more photos on Katherine’s blog and visit The Habitat Factory shop for the latest collection of artisan handmade goods.

Ojai Family Photography

family2

We love this family! The Zielsdorfs are dear friends. Mike went to high school with Richard and his wife Corey shares the same birthday with him. We  always enjoy taking their family photos for the holidays.

This year they welcomed a new member of their family, who was a cool and calm baby. As always, the vivacious Grace kept us on our toes and laughing!
