We hosted our third workshop this last Sunday in Eagle Rock at the lovely, modern space called Handcraft + Hart owned by stylist Russ Hart. Russ was such a joy to work with and we surely will have another workshop at H + H in the future.
When the ladies arrived at the craft party we greeted them with a cool drink, sat down and began working on our lace cat ears. Step by step instructions and lots of sewing were involved, but each lady did a wonderful job constructing their cat ears.
The workshop attendees were treated to a little pampering by Joelle Pitts Make-Up, Joelle gave one on one tutorials on how to achieve a sultry cat eye as well as finished each ladies face with a daytime cat eye look with lashes. Erica Chavez Peters then styled their tresses with big wavy curls. It was perfect for a few of the ladies, who were heading to Halloween parties after the event.
Towards the end of the craft party we all had a slice of the chocolate cake with buttercream filling covered in chocolate granache and topped with black sesame, dried rose petals and raspberries, the cake was made by Sara Tso of Matchbox Kitchen, an organic and sustainable L.A baking co. We all were so excited about diving into this cake. Sara’s cakes have a subtle sweetness to them, which make them so natural and delicious.
The ladies left with an instax photo, treat bag including Too Faced Cosmetics Cat Eye Kit, Cacti Pin Cushion, and some chocolate treats. The cat ears were adorable on each lady, especially the youngest girl Zoey, the daughter of Paige from House of Ginger blog.
It was such a lovely afternoon and perfect way to celebrate a little bit of Halloween. I was so pleased with how much fun the girls had and
