On March 22nd Oliver and Michele Productions, along with the awesome folks of Scratch and beautiful styling and vintage rentals by Milk and Honey Farm had a farm to table dinner for the Ventura County community. The supper was an intimate evening at the Rio Gozo Farm in Ojai.
The evening started with a wonderful spread of cheese, preserves from the Rio Gozo Farm, with bread and nuts to compliment. Wine from Four Brix and fresh squeezed lemonade was served as the guests enjoyed the surroundings of trees, chickens and a baby goat named Pi, who pranced around entertaining the guests. Ojai musician Dave Palmer played piano that created a beautiful ambience.
As the sun went down, dinner was served each entree came out one at a time and was passed around family style to the guests. The dinner menu from Scratch and bounty from Rio Gozo:
Poached farm egg with dandelion greens, preserved lemons and a goat milk polenta.
Roasted beet salad with puffed rice, Meyer lemon vinaigrette
Carpenter Ranch grass fed flank steak from Ventura Meat Company marinated in orange blossom, olive oil and marjoram with brown butter braised turnips and kale, swiss chard and radicchio.
